Legend of Pedra da Gávea
Many have wondered for centuries about the legend of Pedra da Gávea. It has the form of a human face and features an inscription carved into the rockface. According to studies (to date unproven) it is believed to be Phoenician and the rockface carved in the likeness of their king, King Badzir, who may have been buried there in 850 BC.
