Every year the Fabra Astronomical Observatory in Barcelona hosts its fabulous “Sopar amb Estrelles” (Dinner Under the Stars) and this year is no exception. Thus, up until September 2012 a delicious dinner on the Fabra Observatory terrace is on offer followed by a tour of the facilities and a peek through the telescope there at our beloved Solar System.The Fabra Observatory boasts a privileged location atop lovely Collserola Hill in Barcelona. The study of asteroids and comets is the main activity carried out in this astronomical observatory, the fourth most ancient in the world, however over the summer months visitors are invited to enjoy a spot of stargazing too.
On the 8th of July 2012, Rio de Janeiro Marathon 2012 will be held. This exciting sports event, world-famous for boasting the most stunning scenery, is divided into two parts i.e. the races taking place in the morning and the marathon dinner for all the dedicated participants, held in the evening. More than 10,000 runners gather in Rio de Janeiro every year to take part in Rio Marathon that features three different races; the Marathon, the Half-Marathon and the Family Run, as well as a category for wheelchair users and the disabled.
One of the biggest events in Brazil will be kicking off once again and celebrating its 21st edition at the end of this May 2012. We are referring to Rio de Janeiro Fashion Week, a biannual event. The Rio de Janeiro catwalk brought us the autumn/winter collection in January just gone, and now we can discover what’s hot this year with the spring/summer collection presented in Rio de Janeiro on the 28th of May to the 2nd of June.
